Hi all,

Rare East African Ebony Ritual Staff / Ceremonial Artefact – Museum-Quality Presence

Superb hand-carved solid ebony masterpiece: an imposing warrior portrait terminal surmounting a long, powerfully incised shaft bearing authentic traditional geometric and symbolic motifs. Deep jet-black patina acquired over decades. Late 20th-century Kenyan/Tanzanian tribal craftsmanship at its most refined and dramatic.

36 cm of pure sculptural authority. This is the kind of bold, instantly recognisable statement artefact that dominates a collector’s shelf, library, or display cabinet.

£200 – £250 ONO For the serious collector of African ethnographica and ritual objects.

Private sale – Mitcham – cash or transfer on collection.

Would be happy to furnish more information.

Kind regards,
Soman. S

    • Hi Angelina - whilst I’m not close enough to this decision (as a candidate not a councillor), I would hope there will be public consultation if this situation arises again next year. As a local resident, I will push for this, if I do become a councillor. Hello - I will ask for this to be updated as soon as possible, as I appreciate people will be looking for this info!
    • You could try Merrifields, the shoe maker on the left from  Goose Green roundabout going towards  the station? He is very helpful,  and if memory serves can also repair things like belts and bags, so worth asking (maybe phone first).
    • While good news in itself, does this indicate that the council have listened to the residents and decided that the second weekend will not be going ahead at all? or that there is an appetite for the 2nd weekend but the council have deferred it to next year?
    • Hi Tori, thanks for that welcome news. Do you know when this decision will be reported/ confirmed on the official Southwark site?
