Hi all,

We’re looking at getting a real christmas tree this year - are there any recommendations on where to get one locally (ideally walking distance from lordship lane)?

Many thanks

There are usually people selling trees in North Cross Road market, outside the EDT, and in the cricket club carpark  opposite the old Grove Tavern on the South Circular.

I think also some years outside The Plough, if memory serves

Don't know when they start to sell them, though.

Probably other places as well.

I got my tree from Gardenman (Nigel on 07559 862191) last year. delivered to my door.  Lovely tree,  good condition

He posted this year's prices in the For Sale section of the Forum on 11 Nov.

The Friends of the Charter School East Dulwich arrange a Christmas Tree sale that raises funds for the school, too. You order on their website before 30 Nov & pick it up on Sat Dec 06 from the school on East Dulwich Grove.

Details:
📏 4–7 ft trees
🌲 Fresh from Hole Park in Kent
💷 From £26 — prices unchanged since 2023!
📦 Collection: Sat 6 Dec, 10am–2pm, school sports hall

All proceeds support the school, and the sale is open to everyone. Please spread the word to friends, family and neighbours who might want a lovely, locally-sourced tree.

    • Dulwich College doesn't seem to have issued any statement on its (surprisingly active!) news page, although tbf it's not clear if anyone has asked them to comment since publication of the story. Farage has denied "directly" racially abusing anyone. 🤔 https://www.dulwich.org.uk/news-events/news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c87lx0981nro
    • Where are the places you need to get to where you are ‘no longer allowed to drive your car’? Because I’m fairy sure you’re allowed to drive to every street in Dulwich. I suspect you’re talking about the fact that a handful of roads have filters that don’t ban cars, that you can still drive to, but restrict some through traffic? If so, that’s not quite the same. Interesting that the filters have encouraged you to switch to a bicycle for some journeys. Think that’s the effect you’ve previously insisted they don’t have.
