Hello all! I wanted to give a huge shout out & recommendation to my incredible CrossFit gym, ShiroKuma based a quick 176/40/12/484 bus ride away in Camberwell.

As someone who suffered with gym anxiety, but wanted to get into lifting and CrossFit training, it was amazing to find this good vibes gym with the most incredible trainers, Katherine & James. I’ve now been a member for 4 years and it’s the best decision I’ve made.

Classes are never more than 12 people so you always get amazing attention and coaching in each session, which I hadn’t experienced before in other gyms.

If you’re curious about trying a CrossFit workout, or you are already experienced but want to get to your next level, ShiroKuma is the best place. The workouts are carefully programmed so everyone can adjust them to their own needs and abilities - and before you know it, you’ll be doing pull ups and Olympic lifting in no time!

If anyone has any questions or wants to talk through what a typical week at the gym looks like, I would be more than happy to have a chat ☺️

    • Southwark Council have a £70m budget shortfall over the next three years, largely driven by the raising cost of adult social care, children’s social care and homelessness. I am sure they’d like to prioritise street cleaning more, but this isn’t realistic. If you’re interested in a breakdown of how they spend their money, the headlines are here:  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-tax/how-we-manage-council-tax/our-budget-and-how-we-spend-council-tax/our-income-and I’m sure there are areas where the council could make better decisions or be more efficient, but they’re working in a very challenging financial context.
    • Would you not expect clean streets to be a priority? Rather than suggesting those in Southwark pay more, would it not be more relevant that Southwark actually prioritise it and explain what they are spending our money on.
    • Batter than closing the whole line down all weekend which they do very often on that line.
    • Ah my childhood Post Office - We used to hire videos from there in the 80's! Glad to see it is still going.
