With the number of times this bus has been shut off along this  same bit of road in the past months you would have thought they could they could have found another route to help old people and others in the lost triangle to reach Sainsbury’s without having to walk great distances with shopping.

Indeed.  I was shopping in Peckham yesterday with my husband.  Got there ok on the P13, but on boarding the bus coming home, the driver received a phone call telling him about the diversion.  No prior warning at all and I found out later that the works were planned, not emergency, so no excuse. Ended up having to walk most of the way home with a shopping trolley and heavy bags - both of us in our 70s and I have recently had major surgery on my leg!  Ended up in tears by the time I got home!!!!  No point complaining to TFL, they send standard responses.  Can't hear any work going on this morning, so don't expect the diversion to end before the weekend!  Happy Xmas shopping folks!

And here we go AGAIN, will it ever END??????????????????????????

TfL report "UNDERHILL ROAD, East Dulwich: ROUTE P13 is on diversion both ways via Barry Street and Lordship Lane, due to water works at Underhill Road. Buses are not serving the stops "Crystal Palace Road" ('DY', 'DX') and "Whateley Road" ('DT', 'DS')."

Well, annoying and inconvenient as it is, Tfl can hardly be held responsible for water and electricity work on the  P13 route.

Though you would think they might be able to get the names of roads right (I presume they mean Barry Road, as I've never heard of Barry Street?)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is one of the reasons I've tried to not comment on here hardly now, because of responses such as yours.

I live on Underhill and it's not uncommon (as for other parts of ED) for exactly the same stretches of road to have recurring water infrastructure failures. The current one appears very adjacent to one which opened this time last year and which took 6 weeks for repair, as I recall, although it was mainly one lane coned off till 'they' got round to it.

Sorry? Did I misunderstand your post? I'm not sure why you find my post so funny?

If I misunderstood it, I  apologise. Please explain. I assumed you were referring to the bus diversion.

Do you think that's because repairs are not being properly carried out, or because the whole infrastructure is not fit for purpose?

Or both?

I know in my road a leak recurred in exactly the same place very  shortly after it had been "repaired".
