In an effort to reduce waste I tried to repair my Miele C3 vacuum cleaner (light would flash but it wouldn’t turn on when the power button was pushed, tried a new fuse in plug)

I read they were built to last and could be repaired, so dutifully watched a YouTube video and over the course of a few days took it completely apart. When I reached the motor I realised I had no idea what to do next, no time to do it, and with two small children and Christmas coming I just desperately needed a working vacuum cleaner.

So I’ve written it off and have ordered a new one. But if there are any people out there who enjoy tinkering, or who could use it for spares, you are very welcome to it. It’s still disassembled with all parts very tidily bagged up.

    • Threads that devolve like this should be moved to the Lounge, so the 'comedy' can continue in an appropriate vacuum.
    • How very dare you. Rest assured, if it were intended to be comedy, it would have been funny.
    • I hadn't looked at the actual posts on Instagram. That's sad, then. The shop opening hours are still shown at the top of the page. I  guess changing them wasn't uppermost in her mind under the circumstances.
    • I want to recommend the kitchen fitters Top Marx kitchens. They were excellent from the communication, the planning and the fitting. John did a fantastic job of of fitting and worked around and solved many of the issues we had with Ikea who we purchased from. John gave lots of helpful advice and support. We would definitely use them again for any kitchen work. I have added before and after photos.
