Phil Tyler & Sarah Hill , David Collins, Duncan McTaggart, The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road SE15 3BE, Friday January 30th, 7PM Phil Tyler and Sarah Hill met in Newcastle, where they sang in Sacred Harp sessions and folk clubs. They deliver music that feels steeped in tradition. The instrumentation (guitar, banjo and ukulele are variously used), is minimal but it exudes heart and passion. Phil and Sarah's songs are primarily traditional, learned from versions by folk legends like Shirley Collins, Bob Copper, Martin Carthy and Peggy Seeger.
