148 is good , especially if eating in

A bit of a run, but dragons castle at elephant and castle is also good

Silk road in Camberwell is worth a visit

Those three are all good calls, if you want classic 'Chinese' 148 is best of the bunch. Good value too. Last time we went we had set dinner and were so full after the starters we took pretty much everything else home and had it the following night (ok i confess, some for breakfast).

I just used EE House for the first time in years.  Can't remember why I stopped, but I imagine the quality went down.  It was honestly excellent.  Good portions and tasted great.  Great if you just want basic hearty Chinese food and nothing too fancy.

I always used to feel a bit guilty about having Chinese food for breakfast, until I realised that 1.4 billion people in China were probably doing the same thing.

yes, but in their case it's probably not last night's leftovers!

Just had lunch at Sweet Dreams/Aroma Coffee, the place with the slight identity crisis on Upland Road. I had the dumpling soup and it was SO good. Simple, balanced, just great (you can have double dumplings or dumplings plus noodles). Cooked by the young guy's aunty. It was clear they're struggling a bit, and it's clear they need some marketing support, but the quality of the food certainly ain't in doubt

When they were on Just Eat, I always used Tse’s on London Rd FH for a takeaway; I really rated them. But they dropped off the app, are they still going?

The best Chinese food I’ve had in London  is at the Joy King Lau, Leicester Street, W1. First went there on a recommendation 30 years ago.

    • PUSH Studios is a well appointed dance/fitness studio off Lordship Lane on Blackwater Street. A Tuesday evening slot at 8pm has become available for rental for any instructors looking to hold pilates/yoga/ballet/dance/wellbeing classes. Our hire rate is £30/hour and includes equipment (mat/yoga blocks/mini balls/weights etc) plus introductory mention in our newsletter. For more information contact Carolyn at [email protected] or visit us at www.pushstudios.co.uk
    • It is a bit (and unnecessarily maddeningly) complicated because you have to choose a type of swim (lane/over 60/men only etc. and even which speed you’d like to swim at), so I sympathise. I have no idea why Southwark won’t repeal these rather daft restrictions or at least some of them and just have most of the day as open swimming (with one lane always roped off for those who want to do lengths).
    • Apologies. I was just looking at the session I book - silver swim - and you don't book a specific lane, although they are separated into slow/medium/fast.  I didn't notice that some sessions are lane specific.
    • Yes, just a play on words, as the term 'real estate' isn't in general usage in the UK and stuck out in your post. I'm sure no offence was intended.
