Hi!

I am trying to sell my flat in East Dulwich but I am finding the real estate services appalling. The communication is super bad, no feedback, no interest. They promise to call or provide the requested info and never get back. Also, sometimes they are super pushy on asking things I have explicitly said from the very beginning that would not work for me.

Anyone can recommend any Estate Agent they had positive experience with? Thinking of switching

No Flies are often recommended on here.

I have never used them and have no connection with them, but going by the glowing recommendations they would be my first port of call if I was thinking of selling.

To the best of my knowledge they are an independent estate agent and not part of a chain.

@OutOfFocus I am not sure at what point you thought the joke is funny. Unless you're an estate agent yourself and took it personally...

It was "pretend" as opposed to  the "real" estate services you criticised in your first post!

I thought it was funny too.

It's just a play on words.

Yes, just a play on words, as the term 'real estate' isn't in general usage in the UK and stuck out in your post. I'm sure no offence was intended.

I like the use of the world real estate, something we don't tend to use this side of the pond unless we are talking large pieces of land.  I understand that real estate does cover individual properties.

Perhaps estate agents used to be known as real estate agents.  Let's ask AI

Ah, it started when they were involved in selling the estates of the landed gentry, and then moved into the mass property market.

So why are/were they "real"?

Does the word have a different meaning in  estate agent speak?

    • I am currently selling via No Flies, very good communication, got 8 viewings the first weekend, a second viewing the following week and a decent offer the second weekend.
    • I find it goes on in all council leisure centres that people book places the moment they become available on the app then cancel in the 3 or 4 hours before the reserved slot so as not to incur a pentalty fine.. Its annoying but thats what happens... I just keep checking my emails and the app and sure enough a places often open up the night or a few hours before.
