Art Centred are running free weekly art classes throughout January for adults every Thursday online to promote accessible art techniques and well being in a fun and safe space. Each session is run by practicing artists and fashion creatives to introduce new skills and walk away with a beautiful and fun artwork for your wall!

Join us every Thursday online at 7pm (GMT) for one hour of our free community art classes. We are keeping all classes free through January.

As a collective, we have been teaching art, design and fashion for almost thirty years alongside our own practices. This winter we wanted to do something to help people feel good and expand their creativity.

You don’t need any experience or any fancy materials - just a pencil, pen, eraser, a tissue and some paper for this week as we explore mark making and shading to illustrate still life.

Everyone is welcome, no prior experience needed.

    • There is now two threads on this. I am really struggling to understand why people have such issues with booking their swim.  Most things in life now require prebooking whether for leisure or not.  Do the same people find booking a table at a resturant or a seat at the cinema just as annoying?  We are very lucky to have 3 local swimming pools.  Since the booking system was introduced I personally find the expeience so much better. If you book you are guaranteed a swim at the time you want in the length you want.  Yes you have to be organised for Dulwich but some of the other pools are never full.
    • "Only those obsessed with the idea of efficiency (at the expense of humanity) can applaud a 100% bookable system. It stinks of top-down bureaucracy and goes against how most people want to live their lives. (Specific needs (preferences, really) can still be accommodated with a booking/set aside system but a totalitarian approach just isn’t realistic or human)" WOW - this seems a bit extreme.  Most things in life you need to book. Yes it can be a bit of a pain but thats the way it is.  You could try the other pools in the area- we are very lucky to have 3 + pools in our area
    • Exactly this - and at least 10% of those don’t turn up and don’t get fined? Only those obsessed with the idea of efficiency (at the expense of humanity) can applaud a 100% bookable system. It stinks of top-down bureaucracy and goes against how most people want to live their lives. (Specific needs (preferences, really) can still be accommodated with a booking/set aside system but a totalitarian approach just isn’t realistic or human).
