Penetrating Damp issues - recommended experts

Hi all, we have noticed we have penetrating damp in our home. Has anyone worked with good contractors before that are able to help resolve the issue? Any advice would also be great!

Get a good local general builder who will  be able to find the source. avoid Damp specialists.
