Hi all,

When baby ivydale was a baby I did alot (too much probably) reading on babies, developments, what to be expected etc. it wasnt until I got talking to a friend of mine last week that I realised that I have not read anything on toddlers.

If anyone can point me in any direction of good reading on the toddler years I would welcome some ideas.

Light hearted or more academic/scientific all suggestions very welcome.

In particular on raising boys, "high spirited" children, attachment parenting, raising bilingual children etc.

Have a lovely weekend all x

Edited to say ds is 19 months

This book, ToddlerCalm, from the people behind the brilliant BabyCalm (very scientific, easy to read and AP-leaning) have just brought out this book which looks fantastic:

Haven't read it yet but keep meaning to order a copy.

Also recommend anything by Laura Markham including her Ahaparenting newsletter and site and her book: Peaceful Parent Happy Kids. It's excellent and I think along the kind of lines you're after:

Also How to talk to your kids etc is a classic for older kids:

    • Very happy to add my recommendation for TDR property maintenance. Tony and his team have transformed my front garden, breaking up a bare patch of concrete and laying a beautiful victorian tiled path. They've also repaired a wall and a fence for us. Richard's tiling has been meticulous and Tony's communication has been great throughout the process. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again.
    • Perhaps this could be part of your proposed forum meet up, the cheese I hasten to add @Sue
    • Sounds like you've had some interesting evenings 🤣
    • Shame, go there!  Although embarrassingly we only used it takeaway during lockdown.  It's a Persian store/cafe/restaurant if you are unaware of the cultural reference in the name.   Just checked the menu and it is phenomenal and good value too, thanks for reminding me to go there  https://foratasteofpersia.co.uk/restaurant/
