Guitar Lessons in East Dulwich

Recommended Posts

Fun, professional, tailor-made guitar lessons available with experienced teacher in East Dulwich and surrounding area.

I teach all ages and abilities and have experience with complete beginners as well as advanced players. I teach all kinds of styles, including rock, pop, blues, and reggae and always aim to tailor lessons to the interests and enthusiasms of students. Techniques include strumming, fingerpicking, lead playing, flatpicking and improvising. Musicianship skills such as reading music, exploring chord relationships, playing by ear and music theory can also be integrated into lessons, and I am happy to go through grade exams with students.

I have been teaching guitar for 8 years and have worked in schools, workshops and privately. I have performed professionally for over ten years at venues including The Southbank Centre, Carling Academy, City Of London Festival, Cecil Sharp House, the Royal Albert Hall, End Of The Road Fesival, and Secret Garden Party.

"Josh is very talented. He is flexible about what we play and finds things that suit my ability. He creates a fun environment to learn." - Arthur, aged 14

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
