Still not sorted as to exactly where I will move back to...3 weeks to decide!

If I end up living closer to Sydenham Hill Station any comments on the station at commuter time (how busy?) and returning at night (relative safety etc). I do know the station quite well from years ago and it is a little unusual as it is so quiet with the estate one side and College Rd the other, and doesn't deposit you into a residential area directly like ED and FH.

Be interested to hear comments especially from those who use/have used it regularly..

Thanks in advance

TS

Telegramsam,

I used this station regularly for two and a half years when I lived in Syders. It is my favourite station in London, its a fantastic start to the day walking/running down the side of the wood to get to work. The service was generally on time and regular, and I always managed to get a seat (I had to be at work for 8ish in Blackfriars).

Coming back the train was certainly busier, and a change was required at Herne Hill, but the overall journey was painless. I have walked home from this station at all times and I didnt encounter any problems whatsoever. My female flatmate at the time used to do the same and was comfortable with the walk too.

To be honest, I miss this commute. It was one of the best things about living in Sydenham for me. I would gladly trade it with the daily scrum of East Dulwich station any day.

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
