Recommended local coachworks/car body shop

Wanted to give a wholehearted recommendation to Jonathan at JS Coachworks for car body repairs (after an unfortunate coming together with a neighbour's car). I think I originally got his details from a recommendation on here, but now can't find the thread to add to.

He mostly does insurance work, but was fine about us wanting to sort things direct, including sourcing the parts ourselves to save money, and helpful with advice about what was and was not worth fixing (our car is 12 years old). Nice guy, works like a trooper and the final bill compared extremely well with what my neighbour was charged by another garage for similar work.

I second this recommendation! I actually went based on this review and I'm so glad I did.

I went to Autocars in west dulwich and was quoted an insane amount and was treated very abruptly and rudely, but JS Coachworks actually fixed my problem for nothing because it was only a matter of banging something into place! They even offered to run me to the station if I needed to leave my car there.

I now will go back there in the future for any further work and will continue to tell anyone else in my area looking for a body shop to go here.

Thumbs up!

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!

    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
