Done and been to a fair few of these and they are very popular indeed. Agree not to do too many and also just go with the flow a bit.

One of the best (worst for mess) is where you divide the party into teams of 3 or 4, provide everyone with a loo roll and get them to "wrap" one of their number as a mummy. Judge best wrapped, wrst wrapped, scariest etc then have them break out and make a mess with the mess. Its utterly ridiculous but this is astonishingly popular.

Dance like a ..... (e dog, chicken, your mum etc etc), musical farts (like musical bumps but when you sit donw you have to make a farting noise - really stupid but very very funny)

Treasure hunt and clues very good too. We did one once where each of the clues was a kind of challenge / game which they had to complete to get the next clue. For a queiter time drawn consequences is very good fun. Agree with the apple bobbing and that one where you have to out your face in a massive bowl of flour / rice krsipies.

I suppose the thing to realise is that it will get a bit messy - but that's the fun.

Ah - didn't read to the end and got drifted off into a reverie of party games ...

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
