I empty my pockets of coins each day and put them in a tin. Each morning I may take some out but gradually the volume in the tin increases as I usually leave the lesser valued coins. A couple of times recently I've had payment not accepted in newsagents and on close inspection it seems I was passing off 50 cents pieces as pounds.

I've reached a conclusion that I need to be more careful and examine change which is given to me. This morning as I was looking closely in the tin I found some more cent coins and lo and behold what I though was a 10p was actually a 1998 World Cup momento coin featuring Gary Neville.

I wonder how much that is worth now............

Fer fecks sake. Been giving up the evil weed but weakened today and decided to sneak out and buy 10. No notes in my wallet (amazing how much less you go to an ATM). So opened the tin box. Excellent, there are some golden ones in there. I won't be humiliated by carrying in a box of 5p's. I pick the obvious ones and dig a bit further for more. You know what I get? A feckin Australian Dollar. It's from 2007. I haven't been there for nearly 20 years. Is this a new scam or am I just falling for it more often?

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
