Is there anyone Welsh in ED area that would like to meet up to watch the Six Nations Welsh games?


I recently went to the George Canning by Denmark hill, the pub isnt that big but what a friendly bunch there...

a great assistant mananger who is very irish and had a great laugh with him. A good pub to watch the rugby?

A few years ago the EDT had a large Welsh contingent on 6 nations matchdays.


On the subject of Welshness I remember ...


GwladRugby forum used to have a question to test your Welshness

It was such a simple, obvious question too - unless you weren't ;)


The Welsh Language club in Cardiff (Clwb Ifor Bach was it) had a

question the bouncers asked you too - in Welsh. But it was apparently

always the same (allegedly) - so not hard to cheat.

Becks, you just have to be very Welsh like the barman was 'very Irish'. Being Irish myself I often wonder what a very Irish Irishman is supposed to be? If you can answer me that I'll tell you where I am on the scale.

    • Not everywhere is like that, my road is very friendly and nice. Everyone knows each other. Suggest starting a WhatsApp group for your street and beginning to chat.

    • Without doubt.. just seem to expect others or council to deal with it…no, don’t think it is that …just the fact that people these days are working hard, tired, stressed.. what were houses are now converted into flats…there is community spirit, well hope so.. neighbours hardly see one another, let alone know each other as work schedule is no longer 7/9 …only older more established people who have lived in area, and not making a quick buck, understand… people don’t even have the time to talk to neighbours unless annoyed or complaining.. when was the last time one smiled and said hello..or even started a conversation in a queue? 
    • Hi I’m looking for some classic plastic garden chairs (1 or more) to borrow or take off someones hands for a project I’m working on. Need by Wednesday!  Ideally in white, or light blue . Can be weathered and old, or newer looking.    If you think you have something thatfits the  bill please PM me!    Photo of ideal chair attached.
