Watching Haley?s Funeral on Coronation Street.

Reminds me of a Funeral for one of my Old Comrades Cremated last year, his Coffin was made to look like one of the Army Tanks he recovered as a REME Fitter.

None of the Mourners followed the Hearse to the Crematorium, we just looked as it headed by the person who organized the funeral until it turned the corner out of sight.

I think that my selection might give some thought to the Bearers as to if they would like to carry it.

It certainly would cause a problem at the Cremation.

I must watch Corrie later. I don't watch soaps but - yaknow - it's what I do as a Celebrant.

What is important about arranging a funeral is that it is all about choice, and maybe they all agree to get to the Crematorium separately, and sometimes people find it difficult to think about bearing the coffin. (It becomes difficult of course if they're all different heights!)

LOVE that coffin, I did one a month ago with one in the Arsenal theme (I think each of the major teams sell their copyrighted logo coffins now).

And - my Dad was in REME!

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)?
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
