I'm sure this has been asked before but do people have recommendations ?

We have 2 bikes ,nothing expensive ,but special to us and I'm getting to the point where dragging them indoors and upstairs is putting me off using the bike . We don't want to go for a wall mounted rack indoors and have plenty of room on our forecourt .

Any recommendations ?

Thanks Red Devil - I have seen the trimetals ones ( and actually don't consider them that expensive for what you get and compared to cost and distress of loosing bike ) just wondered if there others .

What I wonder is how easy it will be to get one bike out if there is another bike in front of it - we dont go out on our bikes together and I can imagine having to lift one up and over the other might be tricky . When one is old and a bit creaky like me .

Sadly locking and covering bike still leaves them open to vandalism so feel will have to go with store .

I cant imagine they need planning permission ,but guess a phone call would clarify .

If you have the room, this double ended bike store could be a solution...

No probs. That one doesn't have an integral metal base and would need a concrete base on which to sit on, unless you have something similar already...

    • Typically the way 'family run businesses' operate is either to have family members continue the business, or to sell on, either as a site (in this instance) or as a going concern. Either which way this is the way the owners create a 'pension' from the business. The number of suggestions as to alternatives makes me feel that the market for small repairing garages locally may be well served, so selling on the site makes the best financial sense for the owners. It's a sign not of the times but of normal business realities.
    • I agree it's a shame, but it is not a "sign of the times", unless you think that up to now people have never grown older and retired!
