Plagued by back pain?

If you've visited my website or tried to book a massage recently, you'll know that I fell backwards on to a step and fractured a rib a couple of weeks ago, and so have been closed for business for a while. So I have been living my advertising slogan 'Plagued by back pain?' quite literally! Well the good news is that I'm on the mend and so I can now start taking bookings again from Monday 3rd February.

If you haven't visited for a while you may not be aware that I added several new services at the end of last year:

Full body Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga)

Energy flow oil massage: combining pressure to energy points on the body with yogic stretches of joints.

Anti-ageing face massage (Mukhabynga)

Working on your face, neck and head firm pressure lifts facial muscles, leaving you with a youthful and vibrant glow.

Head/neck/arm massage (Shirobhyanga) Warm oil is poured into your hair, nourishing the roots and massaged into the scalp, washing away tensions associated with migraine, headache and neck stiffness.

Lower leg & foot massage (Padabhyanga)

Feet are cleansed with a hot towel before oil is applied to the lower legs and feet. The therapist works on energy points on the soles of the feet, stretching and rotating to the joints..

Herbal compress massage (Pinda Sweda)

Therapeutic Ayurvedic herbal powders are wrapped inside muslin cloth to form a ball shaped compress which is heated in black mustard seed oil and applied to the body using various pummelling strokes. Great for sore muscles!

Detox body scrub (Udvartana)

This cleansing treatment uses powdered Ayurvedic herbs which are vigorously rubbed over the body exfoliating the skin (it feels like your skin is being brushed with a stiff brush) leaving it feeling smooth and lustrous.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
