Our son is very happily in a local nursery at the moment. However, we're investigating moving him - as the nursery, for various reasons, can't move him up to the next room for quite a while after he's 2. His language is good, as is his movement, and he benefits from being around older kids - I also worry that the baby room won't be able to offer the same kind of set up he's going to need and, to be honest, needs now.

We live in Telegraph Hill, nursery is in New Cross. There are plenty of choices towards East Dulwich but it would be a nightmare to do drop offs and pick ups after work. We're thinking of investigating nurseries around London Bridge instead, which would be easier for us to handle, but don't know where to start. Google hasn't really helped me.

I'm hoping he will stay where he is, as he likes it, but I want to have a viable second choice just in case it becomes impossible and I realise I will have to put names down on waiting list now (or 6 months ago).

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
