Many council tenants live in terraced street properties and some in the past have received a poor or inadequate repairs service from Southwark Council, with delays, bad workmanship and overcharging found to be all too common.

The Council recently made a priority of improving its housing repairs service and there is an opportunity for residents to share opinions on whether things have changed. Also a chance to look at the related issue of whether an estate orientated local authority can achieve good management of street properties.

Christine Bramman, Repairs and Maintenance Manager of Southwark Housing will be the Guest speaker at the Barry Area Residents' Association General Meeting on Tuesday 11th February 2014. 8 pm at the East Dulwich Community Centre, 46 - 50 Darrell Road. SE22 9NL (next to DMC)

Council Tenants and Homeowners are all welcomed. After the meeting there will be light refreshments, informal discussion with a chance to meet other Southwark Council street property tenants and home owners.

Hope to see many of you as possible

    • That's not a bad idea, though I also want to keep the site as simple and user friendly as possibly. It's ultimately about getting a balance between being informative and being a good read. Stars are useful but I'd like people to read the reviews too.
    • Standard places haven’t got any? Anyone seen any on sale this week? thanks
    • Sue. You really don’t have to keep saying about the electoral system    a) we all know about it b) it doesn’t matter    FPTP is the system we have always had and hopefully we will get rid of it someday but it is what it is    when anyone suggests changing the system Corbyn is right there at the front of the queue to prevent it   so its pointless him or any of supporters complaining about it    the evidence you want is the result of the elections. You can’t have clearer evidence.
    • Has anyone from the school commented? Have they said why? Is it a fresh start? Is it that Grove in the name may have connotations of wealth and they want to attract more applicants from a wider area? Is that it currently is linked to the DKH Estate?
