Hi - does anyone know if renting a room with own bathroom Sun night to Thurs night inclusive is something that anyone would be interested in? I live on Heber Road and have a room I could rent out but would prefer not to have to spare my space at the weekend. Has anyone any experience re this or know if there would be interest? Also how much could I charge? Thanks

Try advertising with Kings College Hospital. There are a number of medics who live weekdays only in the area but go home to family at weekends. My Dad was working for London Ambulance Service and had purchased a house in West Sussex as he had got a transfer to West Sussex. He had exchanged contracts for selling his house and for the new bungalow when W Sussex contacted him withdrawing the offer due to cuts. He managed to work out his shifts in London for the next year and rented a room from Sunday to Thursday in Merton going home at weekends.

I would say ?60 - ?75 a week would seem reasonable with access to kitchen/washing machine etc

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
