Hello All,

I'm about to have a new kitchen fitted (kithen chosen/plan drawn up) and whilst I believe that the contractor will do a good job, it doesnt seem like he is used to having a formal agreement/contract in place before the works commence!! I dont see how I could proceed without having more than a few emails as an agreement between us - am I missing something? Am I expecting too much? What happens if things should go wrong??

Does anyone have a basic template or could point me to a useful website where I can create something for this purpose/

Thanks,

OD

The Federation of Master Builders has free downloadable contracts, never seen or used one, so I'm not sure as to how watertight they are legally, but they are a legit organisation so I would expect they are adequate for this type of project...http://www.fmb.org.uk/find-a-builder/free-contracts/

There's also a Consumer Guide you can download, which could be useful to read up on before you sign any contract...http://www.fmb.org.uk/find-a-builder/consumer-guides/

    • They are. We are back to the same construction racket 8am-8pm every day for the whole of this week. The wall is one of the last things to come down, probably on Saturday. Then we can see how much of a mess they've made, especially the quantity of non-biodegradeable litter trampled into the earth. GALA 2025 - Production Schedule.pdf
