Yes, this has happened to me a few times too... most recently last night. Have had the tax disc stolen before too. It is incredibly annoying. Have also reported it to the police. Most infuriating is how the tank then leaks after they've ripped it apart and costs more than the petrol that was in it to have fixed! Perhaps we could all keep logging these occurrences with the police in the hope that sooner or later someone will catch one of them.

there is a very easy to remove clip / hose on most scooters. The manufacturers make it way too easy to pinch fuel.

Used to happen to me all the time. I believe the little blighters live up near the ladlands - at least thats where i saw them heading and where the centre point of all the thefts were.

I started a thread about this sometime back. You need to go to the local ward officers.

If you fancy doing something clever, cork the rule pipe then fill your tank with diesel, and let them nick that. Then once its been drained, flush it with a litre of petrol and then fill as usual. No damage to your bike, but their bike engine is shot permanently - or at least at vast expense.

Or - and i just though... Put a 'diesel' sticker on the side of the bike. It may just be enough to make them leave you alone..

    • I find it goes on in all council leisure centres that people book places the moment they become available on the app then cancel in the 3 or 4 hours before the reserved slot so as not to incur a pentalty fine.. Its annoying but thats what happens... I just keep checking my emails and the app and sure enough a places often open up the night or a few hours before.
    • Thanks for the reminder! And if people have time, please pass on any sightings to our Wildlife Group as they compare the local numbers with the national count. Email [email protected]. thank you!
    • I am not trying to "emotionally blackmail" anybody. What a very strange thing to say.
    • For anyone interested in the conservation of birds, here's a reminder that It's the RSPB  bird survey this weekend. Anyone can take part and it's completely free. Just register on the RSPB website and download your bird identifier. It takes just one hour of your time to count the number and type of bird you see in your garden or local park. The more people taking part, the better we can track how well our birds are doing. It's a great activity to do with the kids and grandkids.
