Hi there

I was just wondering what others have experienced, I have paid my deposit etc but I am finding it impossible to receive any communications from the owners if my child is now registered and/or the final price- they are not responding to emails or telephone calls....is it just really, really badly run and they are good with the children or should this be an indicator that they are pretty poor in what they do and the service they offer?

Anyone have any similar experiences, not sure if I should go back to the drawing board on this one?!

Thanks

Hi

My son has been attending the Little Fingers on Burbage Road since September. The admin is atrocious an I have posted this somewhere on the forum, although not on the link referenced above as I think this was purely a discussion about the Barry Road nursery. Thankfully, the quality of care seems to be inversely related to their administrative duties. It's a small, caring environment and I have found it to be the perfect place for my son who was going from one-on-one care at home. The broad Montessori principles also seem to be well adhered to and I think it really encourages a child's natural curiosity whilst instilling independence. Very happy to discuss in person if you want to PM me your contact details.

Sarah

My twins have just started there and I'm really impressed. I spent several hours settling them in over the past few days and I can only say what a positive environment it was. The staff are gentle and caring and the place has a calm yet active feel to it.

Yes, the admin is terrible. I rung and emailed several times before I managed to get a response but it is definitely worth persevering.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
