In case you haven't yet heard about Live Love Local, it is a loyalty card scheme set up to promote and encourage shopping locally...

Cards are biodegradable and FREE to locals - just register online at http://www.livelovelocal.net

The scheme is NOT FOR PROFIT at present and we are offering a charity donation of 50p per time against the next 20 people who sign up and send a PM to say they have done so (donation will be made once we receive an e-mail confirming online registration).

Actual cards can be collected from The Palmerston or Captured on the Rye (Pellatt Rd) or I am happy to post one to you if you aren't in East Dulwich.

There are over 50 businesses listed, all offering great deals and discounts on everything from estate agent's fees and personal training to cakes and cat sitting!

Please PM if you would like more info or visit the website at http://www.livelovelocal.net

Charity undecided as yet so suggestions welcome - we were thinking of the Evelina Children's Hospital, Peckham Food Bank or the Dulwich Helpline.

    • I’ve been happily with them for donkeys years but my recent experience has been a bit shocking. Clinical staff have been great (if you can get an appointment) but apparently the Practice has a ‘new system’ in place. You can’t phone for an appointment, you have to go ‘on the app’ and request one. GP will review the request at some unspecified point and decide whether to offer you an appointment . My experience of using the app hasn’t been good and I’m a bit horrified that folk can no longer arrange appointments by phone or by walking in. I’ve also had them lose referral forms, and had to chase them multiple times over a simple GP letter. This has never been my experience in the past so it’s alarming. Anyway, I’ve asked to be included in the Patient Participation Panel, so I’m interested in the experience of others, good & bad? Feel free to PM me, if you prefer!
    • I miss milkmen. It was the sign of a good night out if you met one on the way home. But could quality produce, in 100% recyclable packaging and home-delivered by zero emission electric vehicles really catch on these days? They should bring back the Corona pop man, as well.
    • Based on what I’ve seen, you can get yogurt in small glass jars from milkman now if you miss those.  Butter and bread is also available.  One of the dairies has fresh bread from a bakery in Brockley, but that bakery also do their own deliveries which I had been thinking of trying.
    • Of course you also had lot's of local diaries. My grandmother had a job as a milkmaid in Camberwell when she was young!
