Damp/Timber surveyor

Our building survey found some woodworm (no idea if active/inactive) and a bit of damp - we'd like to get this looked at by a specialist surveyor - does anyone have any recommendations? I've attempted to contact a number of google hits yesterday to little success, so someone local(-ish) would be great.

OK - I've now had some luck getting quotes from a couple of timber & damp surveyors. Turns out that there is an industry body http://www.property-care.org/ and that they list surveyors who will visit a given postcode. It also turns out that there aren't very many specialist surveyors for this type of thing, so it's a bit of a wait getting one done. Finally, woodowrm is unlikely to be a problem, see here for example http://www.askjeff.co.uk/woodworm-the-hole-in-the-argument/, so our survey is probably overkill. Might post back surveyors details if they seem good in a couple of weeks.

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.

    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
