" if you're going mutton there's not much point buying expensive gear. "

Is that professional advice ? I'd always understood that loosing one's hearing involved becoming less able to hear certain pitches ,high I think . So simply amplifying everything would be the equivalent of having glasses that simply magnified everything .

Was thinking that decent quality might be beneficial .

Would be interested to know anyone's experience ,having hearing problems myself .

No not a professional opinion at all and I may have got it completely arse about face, but all headphones will amplify sound uniformly. My father has high frequency deafness so it just struck me that the greater clarity from more expensive gear reproducing a broader frequency range and perfectly balanced sound would be lost on him, but I'm happy to be corrected.

If you need the type of cordless headphones with a charging base station I'd recommend Sennheiser RS220's you can also add a second pair so your partner can use cordles headphones too - we swear by them - http://www.hifigear.co.uk/sennheiser-rs220-headphones.html

    • Happy to recommend Leon. He supplied and fitted a new bathroom extractor for me. Very quick to quote, fair price, scheduled the work quickly, good communications regarding arrival time on the day, did the job efficiently, and was pleasant to deal with throughout.
    • It's been suggested that he may be on drugs because some like ecstasy makes one thirsty. Was that why he stole the bottle of water? But what is strange is that he went in via the front door and reached in towards the rear. He then tilted the rear seat backrests forward so that he could reach right into the back. He did this rather than open a rear or the rear hatch. Go figure! It's my wife's car and she says she always, I RPT,  always locks it. Incidentally, our neighbour no longer locks his car because he has had a side window smashed twice now because of thieves breaking in.
