Loft conversion and lowering ceilings

Hi all,

We just moved into a house in ED and want to extend into the loft to try and house our ever expanding family.

Has anyone had any experienced lowering ceilings in their main bedroom? how do they feel afterwards?

Also, any recommendations for companies to use?
