We got given this, our 5th choice, in our primary school application. I liked it when I visited and hear the head has changed since then. It would be great to hear others' opinions of how they find the school and whether anything has changed with the new head.

Thanks

We got DKH too (unsurprising given we live on the same street almost) and I liked it when I went round it. But, I am conscious that there is a new head and also that it feels like a very 'big' school... So I would be keen to hear about people's experiences too and also from others who have children who are starting there in September. We are slightly in two minds as what I yearn for is a real community school where my daughter would have lots of friends nearby and a school that has the ability to encourage and cater for all types... Like my slightly lacking in concentration but pretty creative child!
I have a daughter in Year 1 and another who is in the nursery and will be starting reception in September. They are both very happy at the school and seem to be doing well. There is uncertainty about the situation with the head - they don't have a replacement yet - but there appears to be a strong team of experienced and dedicated staff who are managing things in the interim. Piaf, DKH is very much a community school - most of the kids live in the streets round about - and it is well used to dealing with children of all abilities. I would certainly recommend it. Hope that helps.

    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
