Handyman recommendation

If you're looking for handymen/decorators, I can wholeheartedly recommend Victor, Carl & Dickie from 007 Handyman 07885 537463. They did a super job and nothing was too much trouble. They are very hard-working and nice guys to have around. They leave everything very tidy too. Will definitely be using them again.

I would also add my recommendation for the guys from 007 handyman. Victor and his team were just brilliant. Professional, hardworking, nothing to much trouble. They boarded our loft, swopped our doors round and redecorated our stairs and hallway, a 5 day job and everything was spotless when we came home at the end of the day. Lovely guys, friendly and utterly honest about what they can and can't do. Also kind and patient. When my husband told Victor that he really wants to learn more about working with wood to build some shelves in our living room, Victor gave advice and even offered to let my husband come and sit and watch Victor build shelves the next time he had a similar job.

I honestly can't recommend them enough and 007 Handyman will always be my first phone call when I need anything done in the future.

Victor's mobile number: 07885537463.

Thank you 007 Handyman :)

I agree Victor & Carl, are simply everything you could hope for : skilled, hardworking, fair, friendly & punctual.

Recommended to me by a friend, I contacted them on a Monday, they arranged to quote on the Wednesday between 7-7.30pm, arrived on the dot 7pm, they quoted there and then in line with their day rate for the list of jobs needing doing (incl : drawer runner replacement, felt roofing, curtain pole rehanging, shelving, picture hanging etc); and confirmed later that evening that they could do the work Friday, which they duly did, turning up when they said they would, with all the tools and materials they needed.

They did the jobs carefully, considerately and quickly - and then because it hadn't taken them as long as they thought, they all but halved their quote.

They are really nice guys, and were super kind to my kids, which is a big deal when folk are in your house. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

    • Presumably at the same point the person doesn't feel any sympathy for a female victim of assault cos well, that skirt she was wearing, she doesn't deserve any sympathy. Same with that kid who got mugged cos well what was he doing walking through there at that time of night, doesn't deserve any sympathy. You left a window open, of course you got burgled, you don't deserve any sympathy. Maybe everyone in Gaza being shelled to bits could just have upped and left, they probably don't deserve any sympathy either. It's a horrible phrase and frankly anyone using it - whether it's for a cyclist being knocked off or the more extreme examples I've cited above - really needs a long hard look in the mirror because victim blaming doesn't solve anything, in fact it often marginalises or makes excuses for criminal behaviour.

    • No one is arguing that people should cycle without lights or reflectors. Obviously they should. It is also a legal requirement. But the colour of someone’s clothing? Is it ok to wear navy? What about green? What shade? At what point should we have ‘no reason for sympathy’ if they’re in a collision? I don’t want people to feel like they need special clothes just to walk or cycle. If you have lights and reflectors and you’re on well lit city streets, there is no reason why drivers shouldn’t be able to see you, assuming of course, that they're driving with due care and attention. But yes, if there are lots of people without lights, that should be addressed. I suspect in part, it's the change over in seasons and the fact that people are getting caught out by how early it's getting dark now (obviously no excuse).
