To book your place, and find out more about Nimble Arts, go to http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=685

We've still got spaces remaining for the half term club, although recommend booking soon, as, particularly the mid-week days, tend to get full!

A few updates to what's happening!

Monday: We're delighted that local artist Lou Smith (Captured on the Rye) will be joining us on the Monday for some intergalactic screen printing (and there will also be some other fun arts and crafts!)

Tuesday: Nimble regular actor extraordinaire Ben Neale will be leading us into a day of dramatic immersion into the mad Professor's lab

More to follow as we get everything firmed up, it's going to be fun and Becky and Catherine are being joined by even more creative artists than ever to co-run these days and make then super inspiring!

x

Don't forget to book now if you want to join us this May - there are still spaces available all days, but I'll pop up a message as they fill up!

We're also looking for a second school or community venue to run some courses in this summer, if you're a governor/school representative looking to host holiday activities, any thoughts or ideas are really welcome (more here: http://eepurl.com/TTiEf)

Hi All, places are still available but filling up quickly, particularly the mid-week days!

As it's a bank holiday Monday, if you're looking for family activities but only want to come for a half day, we're thinking of offering half day sessions for our art and crafts day (as we've had lots of messages from people who are also doing family things that day), so do let us know. We'll get this on the website shortly, or can you message me here or email us at [email protected]. That day is:

Morning: T-shirt screen printing with the wonderful Lou from Captured in the Rye

Afternoon: 3 spacey arts activities (making a rocket that flies, creating a robot from recycled materials, and making an interplanetary mobile)

Becky x

Just to update on spaces remaining! I'll try and keep this up to date, as I suspect we may fill up on some days (Wednesday and Thursday looking nearly full) but:

Monday 26th: Arts and Crafts - lots of spaces! Of course, it's a bank holiday and many of you are doing family things (we probably should have known this!), but children are welcome to join us for a half day (look at what's happening when on our website), and parents can come and join in too!

Tuesday 27th: Drama - 10 spaces

Wednesday 28th: Circus/acrobatics = 5 spaces

Thursday 29th: Experimental music - 5 spaces

Friday 30th: Film Lab - 10+ spaces

I'll keep us updated, we're really looking forward to the week!

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
