Living in India

Has anyone had experience of living in India (Mumbai or Delhi) with young children? We are considering a move for work and investigating schools, cost of living etc. Thank you.

Not with kids so probably not helpful but I lived in Mumbai for about 8 months. Some of the expats I knew had children but not many. I love Mumbai and would love to go back with my family and young children someday! It was a very hard adjustment but that was 10 years ago and the city has changed hugely since then. I imagine you probably know both cities but if not, I can describe some of the major challenges. Pollution, traffic, segregation/inequality, heat/humidity would be the concerns I'd have about young children generally...just off the top of my head. I'm sure others will know more about details like school places, childcare, etc.

I'm still looking for views on this, if anyone has... particularly on Mumbai. We have three young children, youngest will be only 1 when we move, so this is a bit of an adventure. I am finding choice of (or lack of choice of) schools/neighbourhoods particularly daunting.
