I once consented to Heber putting up Estate agents signs for School Fund Raising events.

This was a long time ago. Suddenly without warning I had a Daisy Lets Sign in my Front Garden. Ah well School needs the cash. But I returned tonight to Find the Sign cut down and abandoned. Is this a rival firm destroying their advertising?

Hello, I'm on the Heber P&F - v sorry this has happened. We do contact parents to check they're still happy being on the list but looks like you must have got missed somehow here. I gather another member of the P&F has got in touch with you to get your address so we'll arrange to get the board removed asap (not sure who has cut it down!). Many apologies for the inconvenience.

    • Is it possible for someone to change the heading, because it is not clear that this "fatality" has not just happened. I'm not sure that the OP still posts on here. Admin?
    • A couple of updates to this terrible event:   1) In 2021, two cousins (one from Penge and one from Streatham) were convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 23 years in prison. The Southwark News has a summary of the awful day. https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/dulwich/donnell-rhule-dulwich-knife-murderer-cousins-sentenced-to-life-for-killing-18-year-old/    2) Last week, a female prison officer from Forest Hill was sentenced to eight months in prison for pursuing a relationship with one of the two murderers while at HMP Brixton. https://metro.co.uk/2025/12/15/probation-officer-admits-relationship-prisoner-hmp-belmarsh-25501445/ https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/38203627/probation-officer-jailed-illicit-relationship-murderer-secure-prison/
    • The Commons Public Accounts Committee questioned both the CEO and MD of Capita yesterday, at their last meeting before the recess:  https://committees.parliament.uk/event/25889/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/.  In October they'd already expressed concern that Capita might not  be able to efficiently retake over responsibility for the administration within the timescale. Given the joint statement recently issued by Capita and the Cabinet Office I'm not sure that contacting an MP is going to add much, other than venting what I think most of us can probably appreciate of what those affected are likely  to be thinking and feeling; unless perhaps, and I hope it's not needed, to report on deficiencies in the immediate rescue actions.
    • She's responded, but I'm sure I read something in the Guardian consumer advice column. Might be some pointers if you're stuck
