I would be inclined to go with the Nursery that is attached to the school you are most likely to get a Reception place at (when your child starts full time school at 4). I don't think there are any roads in East Dulwich which would be in the catchment for both schools.

I would probably agree but it is a lottery ...and may not get in at Reception !!! So am wondering if just to go for the Nursery that is the best ? The school nearest to us has a good Nursery ...but it is full with siblings.

Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

My son has been in goodrich nursery this year and we've been really impressed at how much he's developed. The nursery staff are very caring and he's really enjoyed it. It's nicely separated from the main school too.

One thing about school nurseries is the short session times - some private nurseries do the 15 hours over two full days which might suit you better. Also in his class there are 24 children which he found quite hard to begin with, but has hopefully prepared him well for starting reception in Sept!

My son went to Fairlawn nursery and had an excellent time. The management is outstanding and the staff are great. I would love to send my daughter there as well, but as my son attends a school that is in the opposite direction so its impossible. I have also heard nothing but positive things about Goodrich nursery so think if you are in a great position if choosing between the two !

I agree with the above post though , chose the one that you are most likely to get a school place at . I thought we would get a school place at a local school but it turns out you have to live VERY close to some schools stand a chance. Good luck!

Fairlawn Nursery is wonderful but as others have said if u have the option I would pick the one that is close walking distance to your house so your child can get to know children that live nearby and some of which will go to the same primary - although not all as eg Fairlawn has 84 nursery places but only 60 reception and obviously kids from private nurseries also apply for primary. So of the 84 many will go to Fairlawn and Horniman but also schools further away.

    • Do you mean they are chopping branches from trees in your garden? I would definitely get advice on that eg from the neighbourhood police. I'm not familiar with the law, but that sounds like trespass to me, even if they are not actually standing in your garden. People are entitled to chop off branches etc which are overhanging their own garden, but I am pretty sure they are  not allowed to lean over and chop off anything in yours, whether they dislike it or not.
