Two Award-Winning Plays on at the Bussey Building

Recommended Posts

"Darkly comic, skilfully paced, very funny and wonderfully weird."

Final 10 Performances.

UK premiere of two award-winning plays.

We have had a great two weeks and some wonderful reviews - come and enjoy two superbly acted comic masterpieces at the Bussey Building.

Holiday

Two men, speedos, baroque songs and a paddling pool.

"His writing is sharp and his wit is well handled by the two performers....a worthy successor to Vladimir and Estragon." Bargain Theatre

"A mastery of comic timing actors Paul Woodson and Andrew Buckley can make the most anodyne observation funny." revstan.com

The Eisteddfod

An orphaned brother and sister living together in an imaginary world of incest, pop songs and lost love train for an impending talent contest.

"Darkly comic, Katz's two-man show is skilfully paced, very funny and wonderfully weird." Broadway World Online

"Collins' Gerture reels between fragility and independence as she wonderfully conveys her yearning at needing a male influence other than her overbearing brother in her life." Broadway World

"If they had been performed individually Holiday and The Eisteddfod would hold their own...combined in such a well-produced performance they create a powerful statement about the strength of contemporary Australian theatre; it?s unique, funny, and worth getting to know more and more."Kangarooviews.com

We would love it if you could come down and support your local theatre. Tickets ?15 on the door or ?10 for concessions (Equity, under 26, disability, over 60)

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • Just avoided being overcharged in Superdrug, Peckham. Half price price on the shelves, but not half price at the till. If I'd been buying loads of things I might not have noticed
    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
