Hi I am looking for recommendations for a builder/gardener/handyman capable of

+ dismantling old shed and old greenhouse

+ lay new concrete slab foundations for new shed (must be levelled) and paved ramp

+ assemble new shed

+ assemble new greenhose

+ clear out patio from weeds, level up and relay crazy patio stones

We would really like to call in for quotes only people that come with a good/genuine reference.

Thanks

Laura

I used T&T gardening for a smaller job, putting up a fence, but I was really pleased with the work and the guy told me they do other work, like concrete work aswell (I was thinking about taking the concreted garden out and putting back a lawn) so maybe they could give you some references of people they did your kind of work for. I thought the guy who did my job was good at his job, was knowledgeable when I asked him about other types of work/knew the best way to go about resolving a problem and was also nice guy. You can do a searach on the site for them.

Hi citylover, thxs for the message, I cant find any reference for T&T (might be my down to my poor IT skills, bit really did not find any result in the search).

I contacted another well referenced forum garden team leader and Got a quote of ?20 per person per hour for the patio weeding job.... now that seems quite steep to me given that it is not a skilled job.... not one where one needs to distinguish weeds from plants (anything growing out of the cracks of my crazy patio is a weed and needs digging out). I asked for a price to do the job and was told "I am so sorry, but I charge only for hour job" - oh yes and the quote becomes ?35 per person per hour if they have to dispose of waste. To be honest they have not even seen the area, but emailed me their standard quotes, clearly there are many wealthy people on the forum if this highly recommended lady can charge this much (?40 per hour for a team of two or ?70 and hour if waste disposal is required).

I really need someone who can quote per job or at a more reasonable per hour rate.

Anyone can help?

Hi, I have no idea what t&t would charge but they were the more reasonable of the two quotes I got for my job. Some tradesmen here do definitely overcharge simply because some of the ED population inhabit an alternative reality (!), anyway, I found them, though haven't had contact with them since last summer so hope it's up to date

    • Hi there, We are currently having issues with our current nursery in ED, and are looking for an excellent childminder or nanny locally. We live on Melbourne Grove so can walk within a 5-10 min radius. Ideally to start in January 2026 please. We have a 14 month old girl. Any recommendation for other childcare providers would be appreciated too! Thanks a lot, Jojo

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
