Any recommendation for a damp expert?

Recommended Posts

Hello, have bought a flat in West Norwood and predictably enough for a Victoria property after the weather we've had it has a bit of a damp problem- though oddly enough this is concentrated around some of the plug sockets?

Would like someone to come and take a look, as if work needed keener to do sooner rather than later. Does anyone have anyone or any companies they can recommend? Thanks! Vicki

Hi Victoria... i feel your pain!

I had a damp problem in a bay window for 2 years and after 5 attempts by the same company to fix it, I got a refund and found a recommendation on here. The work was done in February and it looks like it has worked at the first time of asking.

What I liked about him was that he looked at lots of possible issues for a good hour and didn't just go down the route of an automatic damp proof course. Really nice guy to boot too.

David Duggan is his name and his number is 07943 804075.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
