KidKruger
But does it still taste of oregano - which is the point of drying / storing it, right ? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45896-oregano/#findComment-757902 Share on other sites

mco6215
I dry lots of oregano. Usually in August-September. Cut branches and hang up in a cool, dry place (my garden shed) and after 2-3 weeks its properly dry, then I pull off the leaves and put them into glass jars. Keeps a good deal of the aroma, and, I think, most of the taste. There are several kinds of oregano, I have recently been using the yellow-leaved variety, which is very decorative and dries well. Pilarica
Thank you mco 6215. Will try your way. I just feel is such a nice herb and i use it lots, but husband has gone mad and bought lots of different ones and doing as good as they are is a pity to loose it.
