Goose Green Carnival/Fair Saturday 5th July -Come & enjoy the music!

Recommended Posts

Lots of great live music on the summer fair stage on Goose Green this Saturday from 12-5pm. The children and adult Steel Pan bands, brass band, the children's choir and the Goose Green Community Choir! Rounding off the programme at 3:15pm will be popular local singer/songwriter Dan Maitland(also the Goose Green community choir director!) singing a mix of orginals and pop tunes.

There will also be stalls with things to buy from local independent traders and kids activities including a bouncy castle! For the growups, there is the ever popular beer tent.

A blogpost on the Goose Greeen Community website will give you a flavour about the entertainment on the day! http://goosegreenchoir.com/2014/07/02/summer-fairs-and-moonlighting/

The rain is supposed to clear up folks so come on down to the green to enjoy the sweet sounds of live music on the stage, a beer from the beer tent and browse the stalls set up by local traders! It all kicks off at 12pm as the carnival procession arrives, having started at the school at 11:30am making its way down oglander road, adys road and then arriving at the green at 12pm.

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!

    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
