calling all explorers - 12/18 month olds

Recommended Posts

Hello mummies/carers!!

As some of you may have read, an exciting new class has finally arrived in Dulwich Village - treasure baskets (9.30) and hueristic play (11.00). Both classes are available for free on 23 and 24 July for one hour Inc tidy up to allow each and every one of you experience the joys of hueristic play. Classes commence September 3rd.

Hueristic means 'I discover' and therefore a carefully created class has been created in this case for 12-18 month curious little toddlers who want to know what is this? What could I do with it? As you can imagine when they put their little hands into almost anything. Children are so curious a d are all independent explorers and with this in mind this class has been carefully created to allow children do exactly what they want how they want while the peacefully relaxed parent / carer sits back and watches, observes the actions your child makes and discoveries they unfold.

All items are every day pieces what we use but have been carefully selected for children to explore and play to support their desire to learn, the urge to play and support brain development meeting the prime areas of the EYFS statutory guidance.

Treasure baskets are almost full but I'm sure there are toddlers who want to try a free class- so contact me today to book a free class or a taster from September.

    • Yes it would be easier, and I give a lot to the hospice shops, but for various reasons there are certain things I prefer to give to Oxfam. However I might go through the books and see if some could be donated more locally.
    • The other side of P13 drivers being risk averse is that I  have been on P13s at night that speeded (?sped?) down Underhill Road so fast I seriously thought they might crash.
    • Some P13 drivers appear very risk averse. I live in Underhill and on that road drivers are forced to back away, often considerable distances, from buses to allow them to pass, even when the bus has an immediate space it could back into. The driver at the time said that buses 'weren't allowed to back'. So reports of cars 'blocking' P13s might mean simply that the car was legally parked but the road too narrow,or the bus driver not prepared to risk advancing. NB some P13 drivers are both skilled and courteous, but not all.
    • I’ve experienced the same in Herne Hill. It’s definitely linked to where there are already marked bays, it prevents you from parking within approx 200-400 metres around the bay. Dulwich Village has quite a few bays, which probably explains why you’ve noticed it there and not elsewhere.
