I've not read through all the above posts, but I seriously recommend you look at the FOOD DOCTOR. Ian Marber is an ex-student of the Institute of Optimum Nutrition - a college I am studying at now. They are at the cutting edge of nutrition science, and there is no stupid rubbish here - only the best in healthy diet advice and eating.

You can go online or buy Ian's books. Or look at ION online. This info should change your eating habits and life for the better. You can lose weight, gain health or address conditions. It's all about understanding how your body uses fats, carbohydates, proteins, and micro and macro nutrients, and how you can best to eat.

Good Luck. Or you can PM if you want. M

But make sure you've had a wee first. I had one once (a seaweed wrap, not a wee) and I spent the last 38 minutes feeling like I was going to pee inside my wrap and would have to lie in my own urine for another half hour or so until someone came to check on me (you can't get out, your arms are cellophaned to your sides then you're covered up to your chin in a heated blanket - it's not relaxing but does make a couple of inches difference)

    • Had a meal at Chern Thai  in Grove Vale today - a belated birthday meal for me. We have the lunch time specials as they are good value. Hubby used to go there every week but had not been for several months due to illness.  Pao was happy to see us again and as usual the food was excellent .   0208 693 9749
    • We now go to the Forest Hill pool - more expensive (we are silver swimmers at ED)  but much easier to book in person. Can book and pay for several swims in advance. Better and cleaner facilities.
    • So are you saying that smoking these awful vape things are not harmful to someone’s health Alan? I think Sue’s reply to my question explains about how vapes are addictive and also contain very high amounts of nicotine which is the main culprit for smoking related deaths?   Can someone tell me how much a vape thing  costs?
    • I'm down about 50% in numbers and more in species since three years ago.  Not sure if it is the weather, continual building works, the quality of my feed or the pigeons and parakeets putting off others.  Good conversation on Winterwatch on feeding tonight, including issues with spreading disease. Three years ago, likely to see long tailed tits, dunnocks, song thrushes, corvids, wood pigeons. black birds, black caps. Possibles - redwings. Unlikely to see any this weekend, only blue and great tits, robin, goldfinches, bloody feral pigeons.
