Can anyone recommend a good driving instructor in the local area?

I'm in Nunhead and a very late developer where driving is concerned so a good, patient teacher would be very helpful. I'm looking to keep the cost as low as possible too but realise this is likely to be difficult! Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Hi all,

I just want to add a recommendation for Silvano (although he doesn't speak Mandarin as far as I know).

I passed first time on Monday with only 3 minors!

He was always very patient and easy-going, and was able to bring my driving up to a high standard from no experience at all.

Best of all I'm confident in my driving now that I've passed and making the most of it already!

I would also recommend Nicholas. I had not driven for ten years and having found his details here on the EDF have now had 4 lessons with him including a motorway lesson. He has a very calm and relaxed style, and after the last lesson practising parking in my own car I now feel far, far more confident to drive on my own around London. Thanks Nicholas!

I would also recommend Sarah - (t:07956563129).

She is an amazing teacher, really understands what you need to pass the test and will not send you to test until ready. I just passed first time with her. Also really enjoyed learning with her, very patient, understanding and funny!

    • He wasn't great when interviewed on Channel 4 News this evening either, but he may get some respite tomorrow with the breaking Nandy story.
    • I was referring more to his performance at PMQs yesterday. It was quite a riot! Almost topped Mastermind
    • Agreed, he should not be held accountable over the mess up over release of prisoners. On the other hand he did himself no favours with his gaffes on the BBC Master Mind programme where he passed on five questions. Where he did answer, here are some of his responses.... When asked who succeeded Henry VIII, Lammy incorrectly answered “Henry VII,” When asked which French scientist won Nobel prizes for both physics and chemistry?” Lammy responded with “Antoinette” When asked which fortress was built to defend Paris and later used as a prison, he answered “Versailles". When asked which variety of blue English cheese is often taken with port, he answered "Leicester" If nothing else he was entertaining.
    • Why do you think he should be toast? All these problems with the prison service apparently go way back, long before Labour took over.
