I think you only need to use the clock if you're parked somewhere where a time limit is indicated .

You are not limited to parking in disabled bays ,with a blue badge you can park on single and double yellow lines - but make sure you are not causing an obstruction .

You will see many blue badge holders parked on double yellow lines on the access roads around the car park .

Often there's no space even on double yellows and I've ended up in Coldharbour Lane and then use a wheelchair . De Crespigny park is also a possibility . Or drop person off ,park and return .

Obviously allow LOTS of time and be careful not to park in a Residents only bay . You can park on double yellows but not in resident permit parking .

Good luck . It's not easy .

Some may be in the car park - this morning there was around 12 cars waiting turn to get into the car park blocking the access road for considerable time.

the parking wardens are always on the prowl around Kings several times a day and will ticket blue badge holders if they go over their allocated time. I saw one car with a wheel lock on it despite the blue badge and clock.

I have been parking regularly at Kings with a blue badge for the last 2 years (sometimes daily).

Both Lambeth and Southwark run the scheme where you can park in Pay for Stay Bays or joint Pay/Resident Bays for up to 3 hours.

Having said that, I have parked in Resident only, on single and double yellow lines and in Loading only bays for longer than 3 hours at a time and as long as my Blue Badge is showing, I have never yet been ticketed and I have noted that many other Blue Badge users do exactly the same thing, due to the shortage of Disabled Parking Bays. Wardens just seem to turn a blind eye. I have even parked on double yellow lines in front of one warden and he just turned and walked away, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Just avoid Staff Parking Bays as they can get very shirty with you.

Just find a space if you can!!!

Double yellow lines are allowed under the regulations ,no need for wardens to turn a blind ete . You need to display time clock .

Residents bays and loading only bays are not and I have been ticketed when displaying a blue badge . I think you may be luckier than me !

'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.'

    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
