One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I could have attended(and didn't) the funeral of Harry Cripps around 13/14 years ago)..Shameful as I couldn't be assed as it was raining and I've felt guilty at not saying a massive "Thanks" to the Man who spilt blood for Millwall and personified the true Millwall spirit....

He was at the heart of the defence who were part of the Unbeated League Record Home run at The Fortressthat was The OLD Den that lasted 59 matches over 3 seasons(1964-66).

I was "Harry Cripps" on the Worldwide Betfair Sports Site in his honour.

His Testimonial?...I went but missed the "murders" that took place all over South-East London and in the ground that night when some Hammers Fans went into The Cold Blow Lane Home End at it truly "kicked off!"....

    • Walking around Belgravia and Knightsbridge stopping to look at window displays in Harvey Nics and Harrods. Tea at The Ritz and Burlington Arcade. Theatre without doubt - concert at Royal Albert Hall. Must go to Fortnum and Mason and Foyles Bookshop. London is magical at Christmas Time whoever and whatever one does. Personally, avoid Winter whatever it's called in Hyde Park - usually near Hyde Park Corner - got it Winter Wonderland. Expensive, tacky. See what’s on at Sachi Gallery in Sloane Square - sounds really crazy but a walk thru any of the parks and even a row on the Sepentine plus visit that gallery.
    • Eynella road is nowhere near the Herne Hill Oxfam shop. Do you mean Stradella?
    • Both great ideas. I went round that house in the early eighties (I think it was, may have been later),  but I think the tour is differently done now (and a lot more expensive!)
    • There's a book Why do Buses Come in Threes? - Rob Eastaway The title was inspired by the tendency of buses near my East Dulwich home to cluster in threes or fours.
