Moving state to private 7+

My husband and I have decided to apply to JAPS and Alleyns for our daughter. We haven't done a great deal of preparation (yet) as we have only just made the decision. Has anyone managed to make the state-private move at 7+? Are bond books enough practice? Our daughter is a level 3b in writing, reading and maths.

Also, does anyone have first hand experience of these schools? Slightly concerned about JAPS being very pressured.
