Heber Primary School Gardener

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Heber Primary School is looking to appoint a new gardener to lead on some lovely engaging gardening projects with the children as well as maintaining the (modest) garden/green spaces in the school grounds.

The Parents & Friends of Heber (a registered Charity) is committed to funding the contract over the next 12 months and we are looking for someone with the following qualities:

1. Good knowledge of appropriate planting for low maintenance box gardens

2. Must be willing to undergo CRB (or equivalent)check - a current CRB would be great, but the school will organise one if necessary.

3. Fun and engaging with children

4. Enthusiastic about recycling and 'upcycling' projects - age appropriate for primary school children

We have a number of ideas/projects to take forward this year but would be delighted to amend/add according to your own ideas.

The budget is modest and depending on daily rate we would be looking at 1 -2 days/month - possibly more over the Spring season. There is also the possibility of running an afterschool gardening club 1 day/week for 1 - 2 terms.

If you would like to know more, please contact:

    • I'm going to Paris with friends, staying in the 3rd arrondissement. I used to go a lot but that was ages ago so wondered if anyone has any 'insider tips'? We are interested in small art galleries, independent shops, good value cafes and restaurants that may not feature in all the many online articles or guides, thanks!
    • Hi, My two years old nephew is a complete bookworm and we are looking for more books for him. Is anyone selling or giving away any books please?    Thank you.
    • I think you'll find that there are more than just 'quite a lot' involved with firework enjoyment. I'm not one of those, but I do not begrudge the enjoyment of others.
    • Elliot built alcove cupboards and shelves in our lounge room earlier this week. SO happy with them, the quality of joinery is superb and elliot was very communicative with me about checking things and confirming details. Clean and tidy aswell (even brought his own kettle!).    Would definitely recommend for any carpentry or joinery.
