Installing car audio line in

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but anyway....

Car audio system is perfectly good but does not have a line in to connect ipod or similar. However, I'm told it has an aux input or similar on the back. I know you can buy kits to install, but I want someone who will do the installation and make sure I can select the new 'source'

Anybody?

Hmmm...

Hmmmmmmm....

The head unit may well have an aux in on the back, but it might be reserved for a CD auto-changer, and is only useable if such a supported device is connected. This was the case on a Sony car stereo I used to have. Does the unit have an input selector button which already enables you to select "aux" or "line-in"?

It seems there are devices you can buy, which eliminate the requirement to have a CD changer connected, freeing you up to use the input for whatever you want.

But after you've bought one of those, and paid someone to do a nice install job with a jack socket on your dash... I'd just buy a new stereo for ?70 or so, with bluetooth and USB connectivity.

    • Hi all My car was stolen between 1.30pm-1.50pm today in SE22 East Dulwich in South East London. I have of course reported this to the police but not much is being done, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The registration is GM66YOV, though its possible the licence plate may have been changed by now. If you see it anywhere please contact me or the police. Thankyou!
