melbourne grove Surgery

I am so peeved with the Melbourne grove surgery. I called the surgery to request a pass word for an hospital appointment . they asked me for my date of birth name.. address. so I've identified myself as a patient. then the receptionist told me that she can not issue me with the pass word I requested for my hospital appointment because of data protection. I asked what is she protecting me from my own data?? she advised that I can only collect the password physically from the surgery... therefore I have to leave my work place in Bromley go all the way the doctors office to collect a password that I need for my hospital appointment . I thought I would vent my anger regarding the petty thinking of the Surgeries work ethics. I personally think either the staff should go or some one should overall the rules.

This cannot be right. There us normally an automated NHS service that gives you the pw, alternatively a letter us sent out giving it to you.

I would query this in a big way, it sounds dodgy. Surgeries cannot expect patients to make special journey to get a pw.

    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first?
    • Food banks for sure and what about approaching these schools in area that run summer camps - although having said that with health and safety being so strict might not allow it - crazy really.    Can’t remember name of church but was one in Peckham that from memory did a community meal a couple of times a week. Now they for sure would take them and probably Kingswood House as well.
    • We're having a bumper crop of eating apples this year - so many infact that we're wondering what to do with the surplus. Neighbours have had some and we've left some outside the house but I was thinking we could pass some on to a foodbank - or even to Kings if they're allowed to take in fruit?   Suggestions appreciated.
